The Brisbane Exhibition 2008 saw a lineup of 20 Square Meaters cattle with a number of calves tagging along. Rosselinos, Eric and Marlene Ross were proud to announce the birth of a calf during the Exhibition which helped to contribute to a great display of quality Square Meaters cattle. A number of new exhibitors and potential future exhibitors were also present for the Friday Judging of the Squares.
Rod and Sharon Tattersall rate a special mention for having brought their cattle all the way from Mackay for the Ekka. It has been
great to see the reach that the Squares have made into the tropical north of the state. The Dakabin State School also made an important contribution to the maintenance of the Ekka Square Meaters site and cattle leading at the show. The schools involvement has been appreciated.
The Judge for Ekka 2008 was Jack Woodburn, who also judged the Square Meaters at this years’ Canberra show. Jack gave an informative and concise evaluation of the Squares and once again showed his worth as a royal show judge. Thank-you Jack.
The event was concluded by the usual afternoon tea attended by members, prospective members and those interested in Square Meaters. The Square Meaters continue to field serious enquiries from folk passing through the display and in many cases, have come to specifically seek us out.
